Dean Kamen - aikamme nerokkaimpia keksijöitä

Useimmat ihmiset eivät ole koskaan kuulleetkaan hänestä. Mies pääsi julkisuuteen keksittyään AutoSyringe(R), automaattisen insuliinipumpun joka huomattavasti helpotti sokeritautisten elämää. Olen itse nähnyt tällaisen tuttavani lapsen vyötäröllä.



Toinen keksintö oli iBOT, rappuja ylös ja alas kävelevä pyörätuoli. En tiedä onko näitä Suomessa.












Kolmas keksintö joka on ollut jo KymmenenUutisissa on Segway,sähkötoiminen "potkulauta" jota mm Espoon poliiisi kokeili kameroiden edessä. Segway on kätevännäköinen laite kahdella isolla pyörällä ja kulkee 20 km/t ja vie lähes 40 km yhdellä latauksella.












Uusin ja mullistavin keksintö on Slingshot, uskomaton vedenpuhdistin joka höyrystää veden ja erottaa puhtaan juomaveden ties mistä kaikista saaste- ja likaojalitkuista.











Mies on keksinyt paljon muutakin.

Kamen has worked extensively on a project involving Stirling engine designs, attempting to create a machine that would generate power while serving as a water purification system. He hopes the project will help improve living standards in developing countries. ^[1]

Kamen has also invented a compressed-air-powered device which would launch a human into the air in order to quickly launch SWAT teams or other emergency workers to the roofs of tall, inaccessible buildings.
