The Liberty Dollar is the least expensive silver currency. It is not intended as an investment. It is meant to be spent. Its seignorage rate (25% to 250%) is mild compared to what people are accustomed to with legal tender (about 500%).
Niin.. mitä tarkoitat? Tiedätkö mitä seignorage tarkoittaa ? Se on hoperahan metalliarvon ja sen nimellisarvon erotus. Eli jos 10 dolalrin rahalla on 250% seignorage se tarkoittaa että se joka rahan valmistaa ottaa 2,5 kertaisesti hopean metalliarvon verran myydessään rahan kuluttajille.
Meinaatko siis että on ihan OK maksaa jopa 250% extraa Bernard von Nothausille siitä että hän lyö rahoja ?
Tästä syystähän FBI pidätti hänet ja takavarikoi rahat alkutalvella 2007-2008.
Tuo 500% kuulostaa aika liiotellulta. Tarkoittaa siis että meidän eurorahamme metalliarvo olisi vain 20% eurokolikon ostovoimasta. Onko näin sitä en tiedä..

Huomaat ehkä asiaa mietittyäsi että seignorage-suhde on itse asiassa silkkaa politiikkaa. Politiikka siksi että joidenkin tahojen tarkoituksellinen suhtautuminen ja tekemiset (=politiikka) määrää kullan hinnan ja spekulointi commodities-markkinnoilla määrää pitkälti minkä tahansa metallin hinnan. Jos esim riittävän moni ostaa put optioita (eli lyö vetoa että hinta laskee 6 kk sisällä) tästä tulee itseään toteuttava ennustus.
